How to Make Gruyere Potatoes
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Combine milk, butter, salt and pepper to taste in saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Rinse potatoes and peel.
- Cut into 1/8 inch slices and drop them into hot milk mixture. Add garlic. Partially cover and return to a boil.
- Simmer 15 minutes.
- Pour potatoes into a buttered 1 1/2 quart baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake until sauce thickens and top is golden brown.
