Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion peeled and diced
  • 4 cloves garlic peeled and chopped
  • 2 - jalapenos, fresh,seeded and diced
  • 4 medium tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 10 medium green olives quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive brine from the olive jar
  • 1/4 cup raisins (softened in water for 20 minutes)
  • 1 - pablano chili seeded and chopped (or green pepper if unavailable)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground clove
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 - potatoes, peeled and diced mixed in 1 tsp molasses
  • 1/4 cup olive oil to brown potatoes in

How To Make ground beef picadillo

  • Step 1
    start softening rasins (set aside) and brown the potatoes in olive oil until golden and tender.
  • Step 2
    cook ground beef, jalapeno and onion about 1/2 done, then add garlic and cook a couple more minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add remaining ingredients
  • Step 4
    Serve over rice or you can use this mixture to make tamales or empanadas as well.
