I got this recipe from my grandma. She'd serve them at our holiday parties, especially Christmas. Now I carry on her tradition.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of celery soup
  • 1 stick
    butter, softened
  • 1 pkg
    frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 4 c
    shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 c
    diced onions
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 c
    crushed cornflakes

How to Make Golden Potatoes

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl, combine the first four ingredients. Fold in two cups cheddar cheese. Stir in onions and pepper.
  2. Spread potato mix into a 13 x 9 baking dish. Top with remaining two cups of cheddar. Sprinkle cornflakes on top.
  3. Bake 350 for 45 minutes.

    *this can be made the night before and refrigerated until ready to bake.
