I like to make 2 versions of potato salad for large get togethers, that way every one has something they like.

Ingredients
- 8 - potatoes
- 2 - shallots
- 2 - links of german style (or elgin hot sausage)
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked black pepper
- 4 large cloves of garlic
How To Make german style potato salad

Step 1Peel the potatoes and cut them into 1 inch chunks. Place in a large pot of salted water and boil until tender and then drain well.

Step 2Quarter the sausage so that it looks like pickle spears and then slice thinly. Thinly slice the shallots and slice the garlic.

Step 3Saute the sausage in a large non stick skillet, wit the shallots and garlic until the sausage is crisp.

Step 4Add the potatoes to the skillet, salt and pepper and apple cider vinegar and water. Stir and cook until liquid is absorbed.

Step 5Serve warm.
