Ingredients

  • 6 large potatoes, russets or bakers
  • 1 - onion, diced
  • 1 - green pepper, diced
  • 3-4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water

How To Make german potato salad

  • Step 1
    Peel and slice potatoes. Boil in salted water until fork tender. In skillet, fry bacon until crisp. Add onion and green peppers and continue sauteing until veggies soften. In separate bowl, mix together cornstarch, salt, sugar, celery seed, vinegar and water. Pour into skillet with bacon and veggies and cook until thickened. Pour over cooked potatoes and let stand at least one hour before serving.
