Ingredients For garlic thyme mashed potatoes

  • 5 lb
    yukon gold potatoes peeled and cut into 2 inch chunks
  • 8 clove
    garlic peeled
  • kosher salt
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 6 sprig
    thyme
  • 2 stick
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    sour cream
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • salt to taste

How To Make garlic thyme mashed potatoes

    Place the potatoes and garlic cloves in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium and simmer until potatoes are tender.

    Meanwhile add the milk, butter, and thyme sprigs to a small saucepan. Heat until the butter is melted. Keep warm.

    Drain the potatoes and the garlic. Press the potatoes and garlic through a ricer or food mill. Remove the sprigs of thyme from the milk mixture and add the milk mixture to the potatoes stirring until all is incorporated. Stir in the sour cream. Season with pepper. Taste and season with salt.
