garlic and buttermilk smashed potatoes
Hearty, garlic-laden, skin-on, buttery smashed potatoes; it doesn't get butter....I mean, better than these beauties! An old-fashioned farm-house delight that goes perfectly with "Bring Em' Runnin' Buttermilk Chicken". Put on your favorite cd (I like "Old Crow Medicine Show") and let the garlicky goodness begin!

How To Make garlic and buttermilk smashed potatoes
-
Step 1Wash and quarter potatoes. Put potatoes (skin-on) in a large pot, fill pot with cold water until poatoes are just covered. Bring water to boil and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
-
Step 2While potatoes are boiling, melt butter in a small sauce pan. When butter is melted, add garlic and sautee until fragrant and lightly colored.
-
Step 3When tender, drain potatoes into a large collander, then put drained poatoes back into large pot. Pour melted garlic butter and buttermilk over potatoes. Add fresh ground pepper and salt to taste. Smash potatoes to your desired texture. Adjust salt and pepper as needed.
