This could be served as a side or a meal in itself. Smoky flavor and the potatoes are crispy outside and soft inside. Yum

Ingredients

  • 1 large yellow onion sliced into rings
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • - salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 6 large yukon gold potatoes peeled and thinly sliced into rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • - salt
  • 1 package smoky links cut into pieces

How To Make fried potatoes w caramelized onions & smoky links

  • Step 1
    Place butter in a large skillet. Add the onions over med. high heat. Once they start to brown add the sugar and lower the heat and cook until caramelized. Add a pinch of salt and the garlic. Cook 30 seconds and remove onions to a plate. Wipe out the skillet.
  • Step 2
    In same skillet add the olive oil. In batches place the potato rounds in a single layer. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and brown on each side until golden. Remove to a separate plate and repeat until all the potatoes are done.
  • Step 3
    Add the smoky links to the skillet and shake and cook 1 minutes. Add the potatoes and onions back to the skillet and cook 1 more minute stirring constantly.
