This is a recipe from my best teenage French girlfriend, Francine... We have the same name and look alike and we have been friends for 40 years.... She would make these potatoes accompanied with a Roasted Beef. The secret ingredients is onion soup mix. Something I would never dare to think of...

Ingredients
- 4 large potaotes
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 1 large yellow onion sliced
How To Make french onions roasted potatoes

Step 1Peel potatoes and cut into bite size pieces. Preheat the oven at 375 degrees. In a lightly greased baking pan, lay the potatoes and slice onions.

Step 2Take the onion mix dissolve with water but about 1/2 less than the directions on the package.

Step 3Add the onions, then add the melted butter to the broth that you just made and pour over the potatoes. Bake about 20-30 minutes according to the size of the potatoes.

Step 4At times I add fresh thyme, rosemary, parsley and crushed red pepper. It does add a kick of fresh herbs which inspires my spirit... Try it...you may fly!!
