freckle-faced 'tators

I made this recipe years ago when the kids were growing up and they really liked it. It comes from an old cookbook that has recipes taken from the backs of bottles, boxes, cans, etc. of name brand foods manufacturers, i.e. Pet, Hershey's, Heinz, Hunts', Lea & Perrin, McIlhenny, etc. These recipes were kitchen tested and some date back probably to the '20's and '30's.

Ingredients

  • 2 large baking potatoes, baked
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon tabasco sauce
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs or crushed croutons

How To Make freckle-faced 'tators

  • Step 1
    Quarter hot potatoes lengthwise and place in a (sprayed) baking dish. Sprinkle grated cheese over potaotes. Melt butter in a skillet; add remaining ingredients, stirring until bread crumbs are moist. Crumble mixture over potatoes and place under broiler until cheese has browned.
