How To Make easy cinnamon sugar baked sweet potatoes
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Peel and wash your sweet potatoes. Cut the whole potato into 1 1/2 inch pieces.
-
Step 2Place each piece, cut side down, in a standard baking dish. Tip for easy cleanup: Use a disposable foil pan. You can buy 1/2 pans cheaply at a big box club store.
-
Step 3Melt the butter. While the butter is hot, mix in the brown sugar.
-
Step 4Once brown sugar is dissolved, pour the mixture over the sweet potatoes and completely coat each piece by rolling them around in the mixture.
-
Step 5Cover dish with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 45 - 55 minutes or until fork-tender.
-
Step 6Mix 1 Tbsp of cinnamon and 2 Tbsp of granulated sugar in a small bowl.
-
Step 7Remove foil and sprinkle the top of each piece with the cinnamon and cinnamon sugar.
-
Step 8Return to the oven, uncovered, and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until brown on top. Check every 5 minutes to prevent burning.
-
Step 9Remove from the oven and drizzle the juice from the pan over the sweet potatoes.
