My husband doesn't like sour cream in his cheesy potatoes, so I was experimenting with different combinations to get the creamy texture without using sour cream. Mission accomplished with this great side dish!

Ingredients

2 lb
frozen, shredded hashbrowns
3 c
diced, cooked ham
1 c
shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz
cream cheese
1/2 c
diced onion (optional)
4 Tbsp
butter or margarine
1 c
milk
2 tsp
chicken bouillon, dissolved in 3/4 cup boiling water
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
1/2 tsp
minced garlic
pepper

How to Make Crock Pot Cheesy Potatoes & Ham

Step-by-Step

  • 1Put everything but cream cheese and butter in a crock pot. Mix well. Cut up cream cheese and butter into cubes. Dot over top of potatoes.
  • 2Cook on High for 2 hours, stirring periodically. Reduce heat to low and cook for 2 more hours. Can also cook this in the oven at 325 for 1 1/2 hours.
