crock pot cheesy potatoes & ham

My husband doesn't like sour cream in his cheesy potatoes, so I was experimenting with different combinations to get the creamy texture without using sour cream. Mission accomplished with this great side dish!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen, shredded hashbrowns
  • 3 cups diced, cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon, dissolved in 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • - pepper

How To Make crock pot cheesy potatoes & ham

  • Step 1
    Put everything but cream cheese and butter in a crock pot. Mix well. Cut up cream cheese and butter into cubes. Dot over top of potatoes.
  • Step 2
    Cook on High for 2 hours, stirring periodically. Reduce heat to low and cook for 2 more hours. Can also cook this in the oven at 325 for 1 1/2 hours.
