Another one of my family's favorites. My kids, however, don't like the pork ~n~ beans so I make a double recipe in a 9X13 pan but only put the beans on half of it.

How to Make Cowboy Dinner

Step-by-Step

  1. Butter casserole dish. Spread potatoes over bottom and sprinkle with salt.
  2. Spread beef over potatoes, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl mix onion, pepper, beans and enough ketchup to keep beans from drying. Spread on top of meat; cover.
  4. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours or in the crockpot on low for 4-5 hours (brown ground beef first if cooking in crockpot).
