country style potatoes and mushrooms - dee dee's
When I was learning to cook, this is one of the dishes I started with. I remember the year I got this recipe, it was the end of 1970 and I would soon be getting married. I really could not cook very much nor very well! My good friend Robin came to the rescue when she brought a big stack of magazines, with tons of recipes, to my house. We spent the afternoon writing out recipe cards, getting me ready for the new approaching journey in my life. The marriage didn't last but this recipe did! Very simple and very tasty! Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients
- - mashed potatoes, prepared the way you like them
- 1/2 pound chopped mushrooms, i have used canned mushrooms when i didn't have fresh
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- dash pepper
- 1 tablespoon parsley

Step 1Sauté chopped mushrooms and onions in melted butter for 8 minutes or until tender. Add salt and pepper.

Step 2Fold into hot mashed potatoes and garnish with parsley.
