Codfish Cakes and Baked Beans

Ingredients

1 lbsalt codfish, freshened and shredded

5-6potatoes, cubed

1egg

2 Tbspbutter

·salt and pepper
How to Make Codfish Cakes and Baked Beans
- To freshened fish, soak in warm water for several hours, changing water three times.
When ready to prepare recipe, simmer in fresh water until fish will flake easily. - Cook potatoes and mash together with codfish.
Add other ingredients.
Mix well. Shape into patties and fry in 1/4" oil in fry pan. (best if you can use a cast iron frypan)
