I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS RECIPE ORIGINATED BUT MANY PEOPLE ENJOY IT. EVEN MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW ASK ME FOR THIS RECIPE.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • REMAINING INGREDIENTS
  • 5 OR 6 medium potatoes,about 4 cups, peel, cook, & cube
  • 1 cup celery, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup radishes, sliced
  • 1/3 cup green bell peppers, diced
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 2 large eggs, hard-boiled and mashed

How To Make classic southern potato salad

  • Step 1
    Combine mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, salt, celery seeds, sugar, and pepper in a large bowl. Add remaining ingredients; toss gently to combine well. Cover; chill for 2 or more hours for best flavor. Garnish with tomato wedges if desired.
