This is really great for a side dish. or sometimes I add about a cup of cubed left over ham for a main dish. When my boys were small, I made this many times because they always ate real good when we had this.

Ingredients For cheesy potatoes

  • 3 to 4 lg
    russet potatoes
  • 2 c
    cheddar cheese
  • 1 c
    colby cheese
  • 1 sm
    onion
  • 2 1/2 c
    half and half
  • 2 Tbsp
    celery seed
  • 4 clove
    garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    red pepper (opt)
  • 3 Tbsp
    veg oil
  • 2 tsp
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    milk

How To Make cheesy potatoes

  • 1
    put oil and butter in large frying pan. Heat.

    Scrub and partially peel potatoes. cut and slice them 3/4 inch thick.

    cut and sliver onion.

    add potatoes ,onions, garlic, salt and pepper to oil and brown.

    Pour half and half over potatoes.

    top with celery seed, red pepper, and cheeses. cook on low for about 20 mins with lid on.

    if it gets dry, add milk.
