I never cared for sweet potatoes until I had this dish about 5 years ago at a friends Thanksgiving dinner party. I begged her sister for this recipe for over a year. The ingredients are not much different from other sweet potatoe dishes but this one just really struck home with me.

Ingredients

  • 5 medium
    sweet potatoes, peeled & cubed
  • 1 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    white sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    half & half
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped
  • ·
    large marshmellows

How to Make Caramel Sweet Potatoes

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook sweet potatoes until tender.
  2. Drain and arrange in a greased baking dish.
  3. Mix sugars, salt, flour together.
  4. Sprinkle this mixture over the sweet potatoes.
  5. Dot with butter.
  6. Add chopped pecans.
  7. Add marshmellows.
  8. Pour half & half over all.
  9. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 min.
