Ingredients

  • 3 large sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • water

How To Make candied sweet potatoes

  • Step 1
    Peel sweet potatoes and slice into 1/2 inch thick rounds.
  • Step 2
    Place enough water to cover bottom of 9x13 pan and lay sliced potatoes in a single layer.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle brown sugar and sugar evenly over potatoes.
  • Step 4
    Slice butter and lay on top of sugar.
  • Step 5
    Cover with foil tightly and bake at 330 degrees F for 60 minutes. Uncover and spoon sauce over potatoes, then continue to bake for another 15 to 20 minutes.
