Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes--about six medium
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make candied sweet potatoes

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash sweet potatoes and then poke with a knife for steam to escape while baking
  • Step 2
    Bake potatoes for about one hour or until soft.
  • Step 3
    Scoop out the insides of the baked potatoes and mash.
  • Step 4
    Combine brown sugar, butter and salt and cook over medium heat until smooth and bubbly. Then stir the mixture into the potatoes.
