Easy method for cooking hot chips / fries on a camp fire. They turn out just like normal chips. Also works for other veges, pumpkin kumara etc or whole spuds.

Ingredients

  • 1 - bag of frozen chips / fries
  • 3-500 milliliters cooking oil or dripping
  • 1 - tin foil disposable oven dish
  • - salt

How To Make campfire chips / fries

  • Step 1
    Wait till fire dies down to embers. Open flames will cause oil to catch fire. Place disposable tinfoil oven dish on fire grate, add oil heat roughly 10 mins on decent bed of embers, Add chips cook as per normal as would in deep frier. Scoop out, drain, salt, serve.
  • Step 2
    Pumpkin n kumara cook faster, whole / chunks of spuds may take longer, once crispy on outside are usually cooked.
