My friend Amel,from Arkansas makes great candied yams,here's her recipe. I love the vanilla flavor in these potatoes.

Ingredients
- - 1 large or 2 medium yams,sliced into wedges
- - 1 1/2 c sugar
- - 1 stick of butter
- - 3 t. real vanilla extract
- - 1 t. nutmeg
- - 1 c water
How To Make amel's candied yams

Step 1Mix all ingredients . Cover. Bake at 350 until potatoes are tender and juice is syrup consistency.
