Ingredients

  • 12 to 16 ounces macaroni, elbow
  • 1 - egg
  • 3 cups cheese, shredded (i use a mixture white and yellow cheddar cheeses)
  • 1 teaspoon powdered mustard
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - bayleaf (for flavor)
  • 2 big slices onion (for flavor)

How To Make so cheesy mac n cheese

  • Step 1
    Add macaroni to boiling water and add olive oil. Boil according to package.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Step 3
    While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan.
  • Step 4
    Once butter is melted whisk in flour and powdered mustard.
  • Step 5
    Add milk,bayleaf,onion,seasoning salt (or paprika). Let simmer for about 5 minutes while it thickens.
  • Step 6
    Remove bayleaf. Temper egg. Stir in 2 cups of cheese.
  • Step 7
    Drain pasta and pour pasta into casserole dish.
  • Step 8
    Pour cheese sauce on top of pasta and stir. Top with leftover cheese. Cover.
  • Step 9
    Bake for 25-30 minutes.
