Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried ground mustard
- 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
How To Make my mac and cheese

Step 1Prepare macaroni as directed on package.

Step 2As the pasta cooks prepare cheese sauce. In a small bowl combine flour and spices and set aside.

Step 3In a medium sauce pan on low heat melt the margarine and then slowly sprinkle in flour mixture and stir to combine cooking for 2-3 min to cook out the raw flour flavor.

Step 4Slowly add milk, whisking constantly until mixture comes to a boil, let boil for 1 min.

Step 5Remove from heat and stir in cheese until smooth.

Step 6Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain pasta. Add warm pasta to cheese mix to combine. Use reserved pasta water to thin out to your liking if necessary.
