Mexi Mac-Annette's

Annette W.

I can already hear the boo's about this not being a real recipe because it starts with a box of Kraft macaroni and cheese. I will just say now that you can't convince myself, my son or my mom who just so happens to be the worlds greatest cook that this isn't a wonderful side dish. Heck, my son will polish off the whole box in one sitting. Mom used to make this with salmon patties (yuck) and it's the only reason I could get them down. I have made it the 20 years of my sons life and it's the only way he wants his Kraft Mac and cheese. Give it a try. It really is a wonderful side dish.

1 box
kraft macaroni and cheese
8 oz
tomato sauce (small can)
1/2 stick
1-3 tsp
chili powder (will vary)

1Bowl pasta according to box directions. Drain and put back into pot with margarine.
2Empty contents of cheese packet, chili powder and tomato sauce into pasta. Stir well to incorporate all the ingredients. ***You may need to adjust the chili powder amount according to your taste.*** If you are unsure of how much you will need to use, don't put it in until you have everything mixed well, and then put it in a teaspoon at a time and taste it until you've reached your desired amount. Enjoy!
3****Note that you are leaving out the milk that is usually called for when making Kraft Mac and cheese and replacing it with tomato sauce.****
