Have been making this recipe for over 25 years and it never fails to be great. My hubby wants it all the time.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces macaroni
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 2 & 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup velveeta, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk

How To Make macaroni and cheese

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain well.
  • Step 2
    Reserve a small amount of cheese. Add butter, egg and reminaing cheese to hot macaroni; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a 1 & 1/2 quart buttered casserole dish.
  • Step 4
    Mix dry mustard, salt and 1 Tablespoon hot water in small bowl. Stir in milk. Pour over casserole. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 45 minutes or until set and top is crusty.
