Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons basil, dried
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 16 ounces spiral pasta
- 1-1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1-1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 jar (24 ounces) pasta sauce

Step 1In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef in oil and cook onion and garlic until tender, but not brown. Add to sauce..

Step 2Sauce: Stir in tomatoes with liquid, pasta sauce , sugar, basil, oregano, salt and pepper; heat to boiling, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring to break up tomatoes, 15 to 20 minutes.,

Step 3Prepare pasta; drain. Toss cooked pasta with sauce and place in 3 quart casserole.

Step 4Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake for 5 more minutes.
