ham pasta salad

My family really loves this pasta salad. It is mighty tasty. I make this as a side dish for many different meals. It's is a great salad anytime of the year. It's not just for summer cookouts. If making for a crowd..just double... I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and friends do..

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta of choice
  • 4 tablespoons white wine vinegar, i have used red also
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup red onion, minced
  • 6 ounces cooked ham, diced small
  • 3/4 cup frozen baby peas, thawed
  • 2 - ribs celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 - hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped..i have used dried dill
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • - pepper to taste

How To Make ham pasta salad

  • Step 1
    Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain well and let cool slightly. Transfer to a large bowl.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, combine the vinegar and mustard. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking.
  • Step 3
    Whisk in the sour cream and season with 2 teaspoons salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Step 4
    Add the onion, ham, peas, celery, cheese, eggs and dill to the pasta and mix. Add in the dressing and stir to coat the pasta. Season with more salt and pepper as desired. ** I have used Turkey, Tuna, Salami, Pepperoni to this before..all are delicious!
  • Step 5
    Enjoy!
