Ingredients
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- salt
- FOR THE SAUCE
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 8 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 2 cups fresh basil chopped
- salt and pepper
- 1 cup freshly grated pecorino romano plus more for serving
How To Make garlic and basil pasta sauce

Step 1Cook spaghetti in boiling salted water until almost al dente.

Step 2While spaghetti is cooking. Add the oil and butter to a large pan big enough to hold the spaghetti. Add the garlic and cook 1 minutes. Do not let it burn. Add the wine and let most evaporate. Add the basil. Cook 2 minutes. Add the spaghetti and about 1 cup pasta water and stir.

Step 3Add the cheese and cook until melted. Let sit for a couple of minutes until the pasta has absorbed all the fluid. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Serve garnished with cheese.
