The kids said this was awesome! That's all I need to know. I hope you try it sometime... the sauce was so creamy..it took all I had not to have a spoonful! LOL

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cooked and drained pasta - i used a mixture
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can cream of cheddar soup
  • 8 ounces block- white sharp cheddar cheese - shredded
  • 1/4 cup real bacon bits - divided
  • pinch - cayenne pepper, optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon each - salt, pepper and onion powder
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • handful - seasoned panko crumbs

How To Make ~ creamy white cheddar & bacon - mac & cheese ~

  • Step 1
    Prepare pasta, drain, cover and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray an 11 x 7 casserole dish or a 9 inch deep pie plate with non stick spray or grease with butter. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add soup, milk, cheese, spices, butter. Cook and stir until cheese and butter is melted and you have a silky sauce. Don't burn. Stir in 3/4 of the bacon.
  • Step 2
    Mix the sauce with the pasta. Spread into prepared dish. Sprinkle with Panko crumbs and remainder of bacon.
  • Step 3
    Place in oven and bake for 25 - 30 minutes or until nice and bubbly. Serve immediately.
