best macaroni & cheese

I'm asked to make this alot. This is another recipe from my mom. She always served it with her meat loaf (recipe also posted). Beats out of the box kind any day of the week!

Ingredients
- 16 ounces box elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 pound block colby cheese
- - salt & pepper to taste
How To Make best macaroni & cheese

Step 1Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until al-dente. Do not overcook or it will be mushy once it cooks in the oven.

Step 2Shred cheese in food processor, put aside.

Step 3Combine milk, butter, salt & pepper. Heat in microwave just until butter is melted. Whisk together.

Step 4Layer half the macaroni in a 9x13 casserole dish.

Step 5Sprinkle half the cheese over macaroni.

Step 6Pour half the milk mixture over.

Step 7Repeat with remaining macaroni, cheese and milk mixture.

Step 8Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 350.
