I got this recipe from a friend a few years back. It's a favorite around our house. This recipe is for a 13x9 pan but you can always half the recipe as this makes a lot!

  • 16 oz
    macaroni, elbow
  • 1 pt
    half and half
  • 1 pt
    heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz
    mild cheddar; shredded
  • 8 oz
    sharp cheddar; shredded
  • 8 oz
    colby/jack; shredded
  • 3/4 stick
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • ·
    black pepper to taste
  • ·
    cayenne pepper
  • ·

How to Make Baked 4 cheese mac & cheese


  1. cook noodles until done and drain
  2. mix noodles, butter, half and half, whipping cream, salt, black pepper, and 3/4 of each cheese in a bowl.
    (may not need the whole pint of half and half and whipping cream - don't want it to be runny)
  3. pour into a greased 13x9 pan and top with remaining cheese, cayenne and paprika
  4. bake in a 350 oven for 20 minutes. Check with a fork in the center and if liquid is still in the center, put back in the oven for another 10 mins checking again after 5.
