baked 4 cheese mac & cheese

I got this recipe from a friend a few years back. It's a favorite around our house. This recipe is for a 13x9 pan but you can always half the recipe as this makes a lot!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces macaroni, elbow
  • 1 pint half and half
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
  • 8 ounces mild cheddar; shredded
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar; shredded
  • 8 ounces colby/jack; shredded
  • 3/4 stick butter
  • - salt to taste
  • - black pepper to taste
  • - cayenne pepper
  • - paprika

How To Make baked 4 cheese mac & cheese

  • Step 1
    cook noodles until done and drain
  • Step 2
    mix noodles, butter, half and half, whipping cream, salt, black pepper, and 3/4 of each cheese in a bowl. (may not need the whole pint of half and half and whipping cream - don't want it to be runny)
  • Step 3
    pour into a greased 13x9 pan and top with remaining cheese, cayenne and paprika
  • Step 4
    bake in a 350 oven for 20 minutes. Check with a fork in the center and if liquid is still in the center, put back in the oven for another 10 mins checking again after 5.
