alfredo mac and peas
This mac and peas recipe is so simple, easy and quick to cook. It's not too creamy but still has sweet and savory flavor. If you love creamy sauce, you can add more parmesan cheese.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup macaroni, elbow
- 1/2 cup frozen sweet peas
- 1/2 cup diced smoked ham
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 pinch salt or more to taste and ½ tsp for cooking pasta
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 pinch ground thyme
How To Make alfredo mac and peas

Step 1In a medium sauce pan, bring water to boil. Add salt and then add pasta. Cook pasta for about 5 minutes, drain and set aside.

Step 2Melt and brown the butter in a medium non stick skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 15 seconds.

Step 3Add heavy whipping cream, parmesan cheese, ground thyme, salt and pepper. Stir well until the sauce become thick and turn the heat down to medium low. Add frozen peas, diced smoked hams and pasta into skillet, turn the heat up to medium. Stir gently until the sauce coat the pasta, peas and hams for about 2 minutes and turn the heat off. Serve immediately.
