Whether it is a summer picnic or Christmas dinner, all year around, my family asks me to bring the macaroni and cheese. EVERYONE loves how rich and creamy it is!

Now this one some serious mac & cheese recipe! For us, the more cheese the merrier, and this recipe hits just the right notes of cheesy goodness. Super easy to make, this is the perfect side dish for a family BBQ to a simple baked chicken. It's hearty enough for a stand-alone meal too. Try it and it just may become your go-to mac & cheese!

Ingredients

  • 1 box elbow macaroni, 16 ounces
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup shredded Muenster cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 ounces cubed processed cheese food (Velveeta)
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

How To Make 5 cheese macaroni

  • Water boiling on the stove.
    Step 1
    Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • Pasta added to the boiling water.
    Step 2
    Add the pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain well and return to the cooking pot.
  • Butter added to the pot.
    Step 3
    Add the stick of butter and mix it into the macaroni evenly.
  • Cheeses added to the bowl.
    Step 4
    In a large bowl, combine the Muenster cheese, mild and sharp cheddar cheeses, Monterey Jack cheese and processed cheese; combine cheeses well.
  • Cheese added to the noodles.
    Step 5
    Then add it to the noodles.
  • Cheese and pasta mixed together.
    Step 6
    Mix well.
  • Half and half, eggs and spices in a bowl.
    Step 7
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a small bowl, combine the half and half, eggs and salt and pepper. Mix this thoroughly.
  • Mixing half and half mixture into the cheesy pasta.
    Step 8
    Pour this into the noodle and cheese dish. Be sure to coat all of the noodles and cheese with the half and half mixture.
  • Pouring pasta into a baking dish.
    Step 9
    Transfer to a lightly greased deep 2 1/2 quart casserole dish or 9x13 pan.
  • Macaroni and cheese baking in the oven.
    Step 10
    Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes or until hot and bubbling around the edges.
  • A forkful of 5 Cheese Macaroni.
