Ingredients
- 1/2 pound pork sausage
- 1 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 - mcintosh apples, peeled and chopped
- 2 teaspoons dried sage
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 24 ounces unseasoned toasted bread, one inch cubes
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups boiling water
How To Make your grandmothers favorite stuffing

Step 1Place sausage in medium skillet over medium heat and cook, breaking up pieces with fork until no longer pink, drain fat.

Step 2Place sausage, celery, onions, apples, walnuts, sage, parsley, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper and bread cubes in large bowl, toss.

Step 3Combine butter and boiling water and pour over mixture.

Step 4Toss gently.

Step 5Spoon stuffing into cavities just before roasting.

Step 6Stuff loosely to allow for expansion.

Step 7Bake any leftover stuffing at 375 for 35 to 40 minutes.

Step 8Always remove all stuffing after turkey is roasted.
