This recipe was given to my by my daughter, Marna. I changed the quanities just a tad to better cover the bread. I take this to our church dinners, where it gets "sampled" before it ever makes it to the table.

Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf of french bread, white or wheat
  • 3 large cans of tuna
  • ½ cup of real mayonaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 10-14 slices swiss cheese

How To Make tuna loaf

  • Step 1
Slice bread lenghtwise to make 2 open-faced sandwiches. Place on cookie sheet. Lay cheese on bread, covering the cut side. These can overlap.
  • Step 2
Drain tuna.In a bowl, break up any large pieces of tuna. Mix together with the mayo & sour cream.
  • Step 3
Spread mixture onto the cheese covered bread. Bake till cheese is melted, and bread is toasty, about 25-30 mins.
  • Step 4
Let it cool slightly before slicing. Slice across 1½ - 2" wide. Enjoy! Cover with foil any left overs, heat in toaster oven, or microwave.
