i had something similar at a recent family reunion and couldn't get that recipe - so i went on line and found this - we liked it even better with minor changes

Ingredients

1 cup soda cracker crumbs
5 tablespoons melted butter
2 1/2 cups thinly sliced sweet onions (vidalia preferred)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3/4 cup milk
2 - eggs
1 cup grated cheese (i used cheddar)

How To Make sweet onion pie

Step 1

mix cracker crumbs and butter - press into pie dish - bake 8 minutes at 350 - remove from oven

Step 2

saute onion in oil - place in crust - beat milk and eggs - pour over onion - sprinkle cheese - bake 45 miinutes at 350
