Ingredients

  • 3 boxes jiffy cornbread -- prepared by directions; then crumbled and set aside.
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 large onion -- diced
  • 1/2 clove garlic -- minced
  • 1 large bell pepper -- diced
  • 3 - stalks of celery -- chopped
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 tablespoons sage -- may add more or less; for your desire.
  • 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • Step 1
    Prepare the cornbread
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 350
  • Step 3
    Add butter, broth, onions, bell peppers, garlic, and celery to sauce pan until veggies are tender.
  • Step 4
    Stir veggies/broth and cornbread mixture together.
  • Step 5
    Mix in cream of chicken soup, garlic, poultry seasoning, pepper, and sage.
  • Step 6
    Blend with a potato masher until the mixture is the consistency of gelatin.
  • Step 7
    May need to add more broth as necessary to attain desired consistency.
  • Step 8
    Transfer to a baking dish and bake in preheated oven or until golden brown.
