Nothing beats good ole Southern Corn bread Dressing for Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. I never knew what "stuffing" even was until I was much older. Growing up it was always my Granny's Dressing. You will do yourself and your family a favor for opting for the dressing this year for the Holidays! Go ahead and give it a try, I dare you!

Ingredients

  • 1 - large pone cornbread
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons dried sage
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • - buttermilk

How To Make southern cornbread dressing

  • Step 1
    CORNBREAD: 2 Cups buttermilk cornmeal (I use White Lilly) 1/4 cup vegetable oil Buttermilk 2 eggs. Mix all ingredients together and pour into a HOT oiled iron skillet. Bake at 375 until golden brown.
  • Step 2
    Mix all ingredients together and enough milk to make the mixture soupy. Pour into a HOT oiled iron skillet. Bake at 375 until golden brown.
