This has been a holiday staple since I was small. It is unbelievably wonderful! Never tried the regular green bean casserole because we had this. We look forward to this MORE than the main dish. Please don't let the sour cream keep you from trying this. You will not be disappointed!

How to Make Anytime Sour Cream Green Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. Put undrained cut or french cut green beans in a pot. Heat slowly.
  2. Chop bacon and put in frying pan. Saute to crisp or soft..they both work for this. Add chopped onions and saute until just clear.
  3. Drain green beans and put back in pan. Add bacon and onions. Stir over low heat to keep green beans warm. Add sour cream, salt and pepper. Stir over low heat until sour cream is just heated through. Very low temp works because high heat will cause the sour cream to separate. Enjoy!!
