not at all a dessert pie; it isn't sweet; it contains avocado, sour cream, and a crust; makes a good side dish, especially with Mexican food!!

egg yolks

9" pre-baked pie shell

sour cream
3 Tbsp
sugar
1 Tbsp
lemon juice

How to Make Sour Cream Avocado Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 325.
    Scoop avocado from shells, chop and mash (or put chunks into blender, blend until smooth).
  • 2Beat egg yolks until thickened.
    Add: avocado, milk, 4 Tbsp lemon juice, salt and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  • 3Pour into pie shell, bake for 20 minutes.
  • 4Cool pie for 30 minutes. Combine sour cream, sugar, and remaining 1 Tbsp lemon juice. Spread over pie. Bake 10 more minutes.
  • 5Chill before serving.
