This recipe was given to me by a dear friend who is no longer with us. I'm pretty sure this is an authentic Polish recipe. You can make a meal of it or serve as a side.

Ingredients
- 1 lg. can saurkraut, drained
- 1 - carrot, diced
- 1 - potato, diced
- 1 - onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 - pork shank (or 6 meaty country ribs)
- 6 - polish sausage or rope sausage
How To Make ron's kraut with pork

Step 1Put sauerkraut, carrot, potato, sugar and onion in Nesco roaster. Add some water and cook until tender.

Step 2Meanwhile, boil (simmer) meat for 1/2 hour.

Step 3Add meat to sauerkraut and cook at 300 degrees until meat is very tender.

Step 4Note: Prep time includes waiting for vegetables and meat to cook prior to assembly.
