I gave my son a Panini maker for Christmas a few years ago and he makes these special sandwiches for us for our Sunday night soup and sandwich nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bag sauerkraut, drained
  • small bottle 1000 island dressing or homemade
  • 1 pound sliced corned beef
  • 3/4 pound swiss cheese, sliced
  • 10 slices rye bread or dark rye bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter, unsalted

How To Make reuben sandwich

  • Step 1
    Combine drained sauerkraut and 1000 Island Dressing.
  • Step 2
    Place a slice of Swiss Cheese on each of 5 slices of rye bread. Divide sauerkraut between the five sandwiches. Top with corned beef and then another slice of Swiss Cheese.
  • Step 3
    Butter each side of the sandwich and then place in a panini maker to grill or grill in a skillet like you would a grilled cheese sandwiches are until golden and cheese is melted.
