How to Make Refrigerator Pickle
- Mix cucumbers and onion and sprinkle 3 Tbsp. of salt all over, mix with hands, and let stand for 3 hours.
- WHILE YOU WAIT mix your vinegar solution of sugar, apple cider vinegar, celery seed, turmeric, and powdered alum. Stir occasionally to dissolve sugar.
- After 3 hours, drain cucumbers/onions and pour vinegar solution over them. This makes 1 gallon or 4 quarts. Store in refrigerator (doesn't have to be sealed as when canning).
- They are ready to eat in 24 hours and will keep for 1 year. Enjoy!
