preserving feta

I got this good tip on line for keeping Feta cheese fresh and I thought I would share it for those who like to use Feta. It was in a Cuisine at home eRecipes. I have seen this tip before but could never remember what to do when I would buy Feta.

How To Make preserving feta
-
1Feta is a white crumbly cheese traditionally made of sheep's or goat's milk. It is cured and stored in brine (a solution of salt dissolved in water), but once opened, it can dry out or spoil quickly. To make it last longer here is how to make your own brine.
-
2Dissolve 2 tsp. salt in 1 cup water in an airtight container, then submerge the cheese in the water.
-
3The feta must be completely covered, so make more brine if you don't have enough. Seal the container and refrigerate it. The feta will keep up to 3 weeks.
- Last Step: Don't forget to share! Make all your friends drool by posting a picture of your finished recipe on your favorite social network. And don't forget to tag Just A Pinch and include #justapinchrecipes so we can see it too!
