  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 lb
    diced bacon
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
    bbq sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1
    16 oz can of pork and beans, undrained
  • 1
    16 oz can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1
    16 oz can great northern beans, rinsed and drained

How to Make old settler's baked beans


  1. in a large skillet, brown beef, saute onion, and add diced cooked bacon
  2. combine all remaining ingredients except beans, add to meat mixture: mix well. stir in beans
  3. place in crock pot 4-6 hours on low, or you can bake in a 2 1/2 qt casserole dish in the oven at 350 for 1 hr or until heated through
