Bisquick contains Trans-fats, which tend to raise LDL or the bad fat your body makes, so I thought I'd make my own from scratch using ingredients I like.

yield 8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 8 1/2 cups spelt flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups soy milk powder
  • 2 1/4 cups coconut oil (not liquid)

How To Make my bisquick substitute

  • Step 1
Sift the dry ingredients together and blend well. Using a pastry cutter, cut in shortening. This should resemble corn meal
  • Step 2
Put in an airtight container and label it so you know when you made this, it will last 10-12 weeks.
  • Step 3
Store in the fridge. Makes about 13 cups and can be used in place of Bisquick in any recipe.
