Ingredients
- 1 gallon sweet or vadalia onions, chopped
- 3 large bell peppers, all colors, chopped
- 2 or 3 - hot banana peppers, chopped
- 3/4 cup pickling or canning salt
- 2 tablespoons pickling spice, in bag
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 1/2 cups white vinegar
How To Make mom's vadalia onion relish

Step 1Mix onions, peppers and salt in cold water to cover, let sit overnight. Drain and rinse.

Step 2Mix together spices, sugar and vinegar in canner or pot large enough to hold everything and bring to a boil. Add onion mixture and bring back to a boil. Put in hot jars and seal.
