This was my grandmother's recipe from the 1950s. Slow cooked, flavor infused beans, more like a main dish than a side dish. Excellent for family gatherings and pot lucks!

Ingredients
- 3/4 pound ground beef
- 32 ounces pork and beans
- 16 ounces barbeque beans
- 1 - medium onion, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper, coarsely chopped
- 1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
- 5 slices bacon
How To Make molasses baked beans

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2Stir fry ground beef just until browned; drain well.

Step 3Combine all ingredients except for the bacon. Mix well.

Step 4Pour into a 13x9x2 ovenproof baking dish and lay the bacon strips on the top.

Step 5Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
