"lifted" baked beans

My husband was traveling for work and had dinner with a coworker and his family. They made a side of baked beans. When he talked about it, I immediately discounted the recipe because it included butter beans. Yuk! This recipe has been shared with family and friends and has even been published. I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion
- 2 cans pork and beans
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 tablespoon ground mustard
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup ketchup
How To Make "lifted" baked beans

Step 1Set oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 13x9 pan with baking spray.

Step 2Drain and rinse the kidney beans.

Step 3Dice onion. Fry onion with ground beef. Drain fat.

Step 4Combine meat mixture with the remaining ingredients in the baking pan (less pans to wash!). Stir ingredients and level in pan.

Step 5Bake for 45 minutes. We find it is best when the liquid has been cooked in. Good hot or cold.
